5-6 Nendrabale/Kerala Raw Bananas
Coconut Oil for Deep Frying
½tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
Peel the Bananas and cut into thin roundels. Mix cold water with Turmeric Powder. Immerse the Banana slices in this water for 10 minutes. Remove them on a dry cloth and let it dry for 5 minutes. If there is any more moisture left wipe it off using a clean cloth. Heat Oil in a kadai/frying pan and deep fry the slices until crisp. Remove on kitchen towel and sprinkle salt and serve.
Hint: Mix ½ tsp water with ¼ tsp Salt and add this paste to the Oil while deep-frying to make the slices crispier. Be careful while doing this, because the Oil might start to pop so close the kadai with a lid for few seconds immediately.
