Hesarubele Payasa

Pudding prepared using split Green Gram.  This is a favorite among Kannadigas during festivals.

Time Required:  20 Minutes

Hesarubele Payasa

Ingredients:
2 Cups Hesarubele / Split Green Gram
2 Cups Jaggery, grated
10 – 12 Raisins, Fried in Ghee
5 -6 Cashew nuts, Chopped and fried in Ghee
1 Cup Coconut Milk, Optional
1tsp Cardamom Powder

Method:
Roast Hesarubele and cook with 2 cups of water until soft.  Add Coconut Milk, Jaggery and bring it to a boil.  Add Cardamom powder Raisins and Cashew nuts and mix well.  Serve hot.
