Yellu Tomatokayi Chutney is prepared using Raw Tomatoes, Green Chilies, and Sesame Seeds.
Time Required: 20 Minutes
1 Raw Tomato, Chopped
1 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
1 tbsp Uddinabele / Urad Dal / Black Gram Split
3 tbsp Fresh Coconut
6 – 7 Green Chilies
A Bengal Gram size Hing / Asafoetida
2 tsp Oil
Salt to taste
For the seasoning:
1 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
Heat 1 tsp Oil and fry Uddinabele until they turn pink. Remove and keep aside.
Heat another tsp of Oil in the pan and add Green Chilies and Raw Tomato. Stir fry for a minute
Add Coconut to this and mix well.
Add Sesame Seeds and Hing and mix well.
Combine everything and grind to a paste (chutney).
Heat 1tbsp Oil and add Mustard Seeds, when they splutter remove from heat and add to the chutney and mix well. Serve with your choice of Indian Bread.
