Kaddu Channa Sabzi is prepared using sweet pumpkin and Chikpea.
Time Required: 25 Minutes
2 Cups Peeled and Diced Kaddu / Sihi Kumbalakayi / Sweet Pumpkin
1 Cup Channa / Chikpea, Soaked and Boiled
1tsp Methi / Fenugreek Seeds
2 Medium sized Onions, Chopped finely
1tsp Somph / Aniseed
1tsp Mustard Seeds
3 Dry Red Chili, Broken
1 – 2 tsp Chili Powder
½ tsp Sugar
Salt to taste
Steam diced Sweet Pumpkin for 3 to 4 minutes. Heat Oil in a pan; add Mustard Seeds, Somph, Methi, Red Chili and Onions and sauté for 2 minutes. Add Sweet Pumpkin, Channa, Sugar, Salt and Chili Powder. Mix well, close the kadai / pan and cook for a minute. Remove to a serving dish and serve Kaddu Channa Sabzi with Phulka or Paratha.
