Fattoush is a salad using Pita bread and vegetables.
Time required: 20 Minutes
1 Pita Bread
1 cup Cucumber cubes
1 cup Tomato cubes
1/2 cup Capsicum cubes
1 cup Iceberg Lettuce, torn into pieces
1/4 cup finely chopped Parsley
1/4 cup chopped Mint leaves / Pudina ki Patte
1/4 cup thinly sliced Radish / Mooli / Moolangi
1/4 cup thinly sliced Spring Onions
1/4 cup finely chopped Spring Onion scallions
For the dressing:
2 tbsp Olive oil
2 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tsp freshly ground Black Pepper / Kalimirch / Menasukalu
1 tbsp chopped Garlic / Lehsun / Bellulli
Salt to taste
Toast the pita bread on tava (griddle) till it turns golden brown and crisp. Break into small pieces and keep aside.
Combine all the ingredients except the bread and the dressing and toss well.
Refrigerate to chill. Just before serving, combine the bread and dressing and toss well.
