Time Required: 20 Minutes + Soaking Time + Fermenting Time
2 Cups Rice
1 Cup Urad Dal/Black Gram split
1tbsp Methi/Fenugreek seeds
1tbsp Bengal Gram
1 Cup Avalakki/Flattened Rice
1 Cup Cooked Rice
Oil for roasting
Salt to taste
Soak Rice, Urad Dal, Methi and Bengal Gram for 5 hours. Soak Avalakki 10 minutes before grinding. Grind Rice, Urad Dal, Methi, Avalakki, Cooked Rice and Bengal Gram to a batter. Leave the batter to ferment for at least 6 – 8 hours. Add Sugar and Salt to the batter and mix well. Heat and grease a griddle and pour a ladleful of batter thickly in a circular shape shown in Picture1.
Sprinkle a teaspoon of Oil and roast. Flip and roast on the other side too as shown in Picture2.
