Falafel can be compared to Ambode. Fritters prepared using Chik Peas and these can be used in Falafel Pita Bread Sandwich.
Time Required: 30 Minutes + Soaking time
1 Cup Soaked White Chik Peas / Kabuli Chana
1 Onion, Chopped finely
3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
2 – 3 tbsp Parsley, Chopped finely
2 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper or Red Chili Powder
Pinch of ground cardamom
Oil for Deep frying
Salt to taste
Grind the Chik Peas to a coarse paste. Remove to a mixing bowl. Add all the other ingredients except for the Oil and mix well.
Divide the mixture into lemon sized balls. Shape them anyway you want.
Heat Oil, and deep fry the balls until they turn golden brown. Remove on a kitchen towel.
Serve hot Falafel with any type of sauce.
