Baledindina Kosambari

This is a salad prepared using Banana Stem and Split Green Gram.

Time Required: 20 Minutes + Soaking Time

Baledindina Kosambari

Ingredients:
½ foot long Balendindu / Banana Stem
¼ Cup Green Gram Split, Soaked
2 Green Chilies, Chopped Finely
½ Cup fresh Coconut, Grated
Juice of 1 Lemon
2 Sprigs of Coriander Leaves, Chopped finely
1tsp Oil
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
Few Curry Leaves
Salt to taste

Method:
Remove the outer layer of the Banana Stem and chop the central portion finely.

While chopping remove the fibers as shown in the pictures.  In a mixing bowl mix, Banana Stem pieces, Coconut, Lemon Juice, Salt, Coriander leaves and Green Chilies.

Heat Oil, and add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter, add Curry leaves. Pour this over the Kosambari and mix well.
