Kurtakoti is a small village situated 16 Kms from Gadag and every single summer holidays of mine was spent here. My Grandfather was the zamindar and the police Patil. The main occupation of the village is agriculture. Few decades back traveling to the village in different types of transports was great fun.

Ingredients:
1 Big bunch Spinach, shred into pieces
1 Onion, Chopped finely
4 Baby Corn, Cut into roundels
½ tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
½ tsp Garlic Paste
½ “Ginger, Chopped finely
2 Green Chilies Slit
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1tsp Kasoori Methi / Dry Fenugreek leaves
1tbsp Oil
½ tsp Sugar

Bottles of whole Gooseberry jam would be lined up in kitchen shelf to last for a year and we would be given one Gooseberry daily in a cup along with some sugar syrup like a Jamoon. This jam used to be a favorite among kids and the jam would never last a year!
