Nuchchina Unde

Lentils based tasty steamed balls.  This dish is served along with a curry called Majjigehuli in South Karnataka, India.

Time Required: 30 Minutes

Nuchchina Unde

Ingredients:
2 Cups Tur Dal/Red Gram split
½ Cup Moong Dal/Green Gram split
¼ Cup Channa Dal/Kadalebele/Bengal Gram spit
1½ Cups Fresh grated Coconut
6 Green Chilies, Chopped finely
½ Cup Chopped Coriander leaves
½ Cup Chopped Dil/Sabsige leaves (Optional)
Salt to taste

Steamed Lentil Balls

Method:
Soak Tur Dal, Moong Dal and Channa Dal for 2 hours. Grind them coarsely and remove to a mixing bowl. Mix all the other ingredients with it.

Nuchchina Unde

Now divide the mixture into balls and shape each one of them into an oval. Steam these oval balls for 20 to 25 minutes.

Nuchchina Unde

Remove and serve with Majjigehuli (curd curry).
