Coleslaw salad is very popular in western countries. There are so many different versions of this salad and the recipe here is the one that I make quite often.
Time Required: 10 Minutes
1 Cup Shredded Green Cabbage
1 Cup Shredded Red Cabbage
1 or 2 grated Carrots
1 small Onion, Chopped finely
Few sprigs Coriander leaves, Chopped finely
2 Green chilies, slit (Optional)
2 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
2 tbsp Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
6 Toasted Pecan / Walnuts, broken
2 to 3 cloves Garlic, minced
1tbsp Olive Oil
½ Cup Mayonnaise
1tsp Dry Mustard Powder
1tsp Pepper Powder
Salt to taste
In a small mixing bowl, mix Sugar, Salt, Olive Oil, Mayonnaise, Mustard Powder and Pepper Powder. In a bigger mixing bowl, add Cabbage, Onion and Carrot.
Add the Mayonnaise dressing to the vegetables and mix well.
Chill for an hour before serving.
Serve with Sandwiches, French Fries, or Potato Chips.
