Sesame Seeds Squares is a crunchy sweet is prepared in North India during Sankranthi festival. It is believed that if you consume Sesame seeds during winter, it keeps you warm.
Time Required: 10 Minutes
1 Cup Yellu/Til/Sesame Seeds
½ Cup Sugar
¼ Cup Oil
1tsp Ghee/Clarified Butter
Heat Oil, add Sugar.
Let the Sugar melt in Oil.
The Sugar caramelizes and there will be no lumps.
Add Sesame Seeds and mix well.
Grease a tray with Ghee. Remove the Sesame seeds mixture to the greased tray and spread it out.
Cut into squares.
Let it cool and remove the pieces to a serving plate.
You can store in airtight containers for future consumption.
Note: Nuts like Cashew nuts, Groundnuts, Almonds, Pistachios or a mixture of all the nuts can be used instead of Sesame Seeds.
