Menasalu is a pepper curry with Milk. This is a typical dish from the region of Shimoga, Karnataka.
Time Required: 10 Minutes
2tbsp Menasina Saarina Pudi / Pepper Masala Powder
1 Glass Milk
1 Glass Water
1tbsp Ghee / Oil
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
A pinch of Turmeric
A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
Salt to taste
Boil water and add Pepper Saarina Pudi and continue to boil. Add Salt and Milk. Let it boil. Heat Oil in a seasoning pan and add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter add Hing, Turmeric. Add this to the Saaru / Rasam.
Serve with plain rice or rice shavige.
