Kayi Kadabu
A deep fried sweet with coconut stuffing. This is prepared during festivals and offered to god.
Time Required: 40 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Wheat Flour
4 tbsp Ghee
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
For the stuffing:
A pinch of Cardamom powder
1 Cup Coconut, Grated
3 Cups Sugar
A little Milk
Raisins
Method:
Mix the flour, Salt and Ghee well. Add water and knead to a dough and keep aside.
For the stuffing:
Cook the Coconut, Sugar, Milk, Raisins and Cardamom powder till the moisture evaporates. Divide it into lemon sized balls.
Make balls out of the dough and roll them into circles, place some stuffing on one side of the circle and close it with the other half and seal it using Milk. Ensure that the edges are closed completely.
Heat Oil and deep fry the kadabus till light brown.
