Sweet Shankarpole

Sweet Shankarpole is a crispy sweet snack; usually distributed to children during Dasara festival.  Sweet Shankarpole is also prepared by Maharashtrians during Diwali.

Time Required: 20 Minutes

Shankarpole

Ingredients:
2tbsp Ghee/Clarified Butter
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
2 Cups Maida/Refined Flour
Oil for deep-frying
¼ tsp Cooking Soda

Method:
Mix the ingredients together with water to a dough. Divide into balls and on a floured surface, roll them into a big circle of at least 10” diameter. Using a cutter cut into small diamond shapes. Heat Oil in a kadai and deep fry Sweet Shankarpole till golden brown.
