Wood Apple is known as Beladahannu in Kannada. This fruit is used to prepare a refreshing summer drink on Rama Navami festival and the ripe rind is mashed with Jaggery and Cardamom powder and served. It has a unique flavor mingled with a distinct aroma.
Time Required: 5 Minutes
1 Ripe Beladahannu / Wood Apple
3 – 4tbsp Grated Jaggery
½ tsp Cardamom Powder
Open the wood apple and remove the ripe rind into a mixing bowl. Add Jaggery and Cardamom powder and mix well. Chill and serve.
