Palak Vada – Palak Medu Vada – Uddina Vada – Medhu Vadai – Ulundu Vadai

Palak Vada

Palak Vada is a fritter prepared using Split Black Gram and Spinach.  This does not need any accompaniment and can be served hot with Tea.

Cuisine: South Indian

Time Required: 20 minutes + soaking time

Ingredients:
1 Cup Urad Dal (Split Black Gram)
2 Green Chilis, Chopped finely
1 big Onion, Chopped finely
1 Bunch Palak / Spinach, Chopped finely
Few Curry Leaves, Chopped finely
Few sprigs Coriander leaves, Chopped finely
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste

Method:
Soak Urad Dal for 30 minutes. Grind it to a thick paste.

Add Salt and the other ingredients and mix well.

Heat Oil in a frying pan.

Take a spoonful of batter in the hand and shape it into a ball and deep fry until golden brown.

Serve hot Palak Vada with a cup of Masala Tea.
