Hagalkayi Podi – Bitter Gourd Chips – Karela Chips Recipe

Hagalkayi Podi Recipe

Bitter Gourd chips.  This is an authentic recipe from South Canara.  Podi is served with Rice and Rasam or Sambar.

Time Required: 10 Minutes + Resting Time

Ingredients:
1 Hagalkayi / Karela / Bitter Gourd
1tsp Turmeric Powder
1tsp Salt
1tsp Chili Powder
2tbsp Rice Flour
Oil for deep frying

Method:
Chop Hagalkayi into thin roundels.

Smear Turmeric Powder and Salt over the roundels and keep it aside for 1 hour.

Add Chili Powder and Rice Flour to the pieces and mix well.

Heat Oil and add deep fry the roundels until brown.

Remove and store in airtight containers.

Serve with Rice and Rasam or Sambar.
