Apple Chutney

Apple Chutney

Apple chutney is known as Seb-ka-chutney in Kashmir.

Cuisine: Kashmiri

Time required: 20 Minutes

Ingredients:
1 Apple
6 – 8 Dry Grapes
4 tbsp Sugar
A pinch of Saffron
2 pieces of Cinnamon
3 Cloves
1 – 2 tbsp Chili Powder
3 – 4 Blanched Almonds, Chopped
1” piece Ginger
A pinch of Cardamom Powder
Juice of half Lemon
Salt to taste

Method:
Peel and grate Apple.

Heat a pan and add Apple and sauté for a minute.

Add Sugar and keep stirring until the Sugar melts.

Add Ginger, Cloves, Saffron, Grapes, Chili Powder, and Salt.  Mix well and cook for a minute.

Add Cardamom Powder, Almonds, and Lemon Juice.

Mix well and remove the Apple Chutney to a serving bowl.

Serve Apple Chutney with your choice of Indian Bread.
