Mangodi Kadhi – Lentil Dumplings in Yoghurt Recipe

Mangodi Kadhi

Mangodi Kadhi is a yoghurt based side dish.  This creamy dish is healthy with vegetables and lentil dumplings.

Time required: 20 Minutes

Ingredients:
6 Cups Buttermilk
2tbsp Gram Flour
¼ Cup Mangodi (dried lentil dumplings)
1 Potato, Peeled and Chopped
½ Cup Peas
Coriander leaves for garnishing (Optional)
½ inch Ginger, Chopped finely
2 Green Chilies, Chopped finely
1tsp Jeera Powder
1tsp Chili Powder
1tsp Black Salt (Kala Namak)
Juice of half lemon
1tsp Oil
Salt to taste

For the seasoning:
1tsp Oil
1tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
2 Cloves
1tsp Turmeric Powder

Method:
Boil Potatoes and Peas and keep it aside. Heat 1tsp Oil and fry the Mangodi until they are brown.


Add the boiled vegetables.


Mix Buttermilk with Gram Flour and pour it into the vegetable-Mangodi pan.  Let it come to a boil.


Add Chili powder, Jeera powder, Salt, and Kala Namak and mix well.


Heat the Oil for seasoning and add Jeera, Cloves, and Turmeric powder.  Mix well.


Remove to a serving dish and garnish with Coriander leaves.


Serve hot Mangodi Kadhi with Rice, Khichdi or Phulka.
