Mosaru Aralittu – Sorghum Popped Flour Breakfast Recipe – Jowar Pop Flour

Mosaru Aralittu

Mosaru Aralittu is a very healthy breakfast prevalent in North Karnataka.  The Jower/Sorghum Seeds Pop is ground to a coarse powder, which is mixed with Curds, Cucumber, and Roasted Chilies.  Using this powder you can also make the sweet variety known as Sihi Aralittu.

Time Required: 10 Minutes

Ingredients:
1 Bowl Aralittu
Few Sprigs of Coriander leaves, Chopped
2 Balaka / Spiced and Dried Chilies, toasted
1 tbsp Oil
Few Curry leaves
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 Small Cucumber, Chopped finely
1 Cup Curds
Salt to taste

Method:
Take Aralittu in a bowl.

Add Cucumber, Coriander leaves, Salt and mix gently. Crush balaka and mix again.

Heat Oil and add Mustard Seeds, when they splutter add Curry leaves. Add this to Aralittu.  Add Curds and mix well.

Do not mix it to form a paste, be gentle while mixing.  The mixture should be like Upma.  Serve Mosaru Aralittu immediately.
