The most fascinating fact of Puttenahalli Lake is that though there is no water in the lake, it still attracts innumerable birds to the lake.

The bed of the lake is dry but you can find dozens of Jungle Myna, Common Myna, and Rosy Starling pecking at something they have found delicious.

Raptors swoop in once in a while to prey on this group of birds and you can watch the birds resting on the bed fly to the safety of the date tree and the Singapore Cherry tree on the island.

As the saying goes “Birds of same feather flock together”, you can observe that the birds stick to their species when they fly to safety.
