We used to call this as Table Rose, maybe because the flower looks like a rose and also covers the ground and does not grow tall!

Sun plant is a perennial plant in South India but in certain parts of the world it is considered as an annual. The plant is a native of Brazil.

Sun Plant – Table Rose – Portulaca Grandiflora is a delight to see the blooms in various hues like Yellow, White, Dark Pink, Orange, Light Pink, and Double Color. The petals are extremely delicate. The two varieties are single and double blooms. The leaves spiky or rounded and are succulent. The stems are soft and branch and spread as them come in contact with soil.

Table Rose looks best in hanging basket.

Sun plant is propagated from cuttings. Plant them under direct sun and water regularly.

Feed with a good fertilizer every year.
