Amazon Lily plant caught my eye in Kammardi, Shimoga district as it looked like a Daffodil and I was sure that Daffodils don’t grow in South India. I took few pictures and got to know that it is the Amazon Lily.
The Amazon Lily is a very beautiful plant with attractive foliage and stark contrast White flower drooping shyly. The flowers bloom in clusters and are fragrant.
The botanical name is Eucharis grandiflora and belongs to Amaryllidaceae (Nargis) family.
Flowers bloom periodically and this plant can be potted both inside and outside. In India it has now become very popular in gardens.
Propagation:
Amazon Lily is propagated using bulbs. Plant them in soil in semi-share area of the garden. Keep the soil moist.
