Cabbage Kadale Kalu Palya – Cabbage Chickpea Stir Fry

Cabbage Kadale Kalu Palya

Cabbage Kadale Kalu Palya is prepared with Cabbage and Chickpea.

Time required: 20 Minutes

Ingredients:
1 Cup Cabbage, Chopped
1/2 Cup Chickpea soaked for 4 hours and cooked
¼ Cup, fresh grated Coconut
2 – 4 Green Chilies, slit
Few Curry leaves
1tsp Jaggery
1tbsp Oil
½ tsp Kadalebele / Bengal Gram
½ tsp Uddinabele / Black Gram split
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste

Method:
Heat Oil in a kadai / pan and add Kadalebele, Uddinabele and when they turn pink add Mustard Seeds and when Mustard splutters add Turmeric Powder, Green Chilies, Curry leaves and stir. Add Cabbage, cooked Chickpea, Salt, Jaggery and a cup of water. Close the kadai and cook until Cabbage turns soft. Add Coconut and mix well.

 
Remove to a serving dish and serve hot with Chapathi or Rice and Saaru.
