Ksheeranna

A sweet dish prepared using milk and rice.  My grandmother used to prepare this often on festival days.  This is also a temple recipe as the temples in Karnataka offer this dish as Prasada / blessed food to gods and distribute among the devotees.

Time Required: 30 Minutes

Ingredients:
1 Cup Rice
2 Cups Milk
1 Cup Water
¾ Cup Sugar
1tbsp Ghee / Clarified Butter
1tsp Cardamom Powder
2tbsp Assorted Nuts fried in Ghee / Clarified butter (Optional)

Method:
Cook Rice with Milk and Water in the cooker. Remove the lid and add Sugar and mix well. Cook for two to three minutes stirring continuously. Add Ghee, Cardamom and mix well. Remove to a serving dish and serve.
