Antina Unde – Dinkache Laddoo – Dink Ladu – Dry Fruits Laddoo

Dry Fruits Laddoo

Sweet dish prepared using dry fruits and nuts and edible gum.  Antina Unde is prepared for lactating mothers in Maharashtra and North Karnataka.

Time Required: 40 Minutes

Ingredients:
1 Cup Dry Coconut, Grated
¼ Cup Dry Dates, Chopped
¼ Cup Almonds
¼ Pistachios
¼ Raisins
¼ Walnuts or Pecan or both
¼ Cup Ker Seeds Chopped or Pumpkin Seeds (or any seeds of your choice) Chopped
1 tbsp Edible Gum
1 tbsp Khuskhus/Poppy Seeds or Sesame Seeds or both
5 tbsp Ghee
1 Cup Jaggery, Grated or Dates

Method:
Fry dry fruits, Gum, Dates, Khuskhus, seeds, and Coconut in little Ghee separately and keep them aside.

If using Jaggery, heat Ghee in a thick-bottomed pan and add Jaggery and 1 Cup water and let the jaggery melt.  Keep stirring and cook for 2 minutes until it turns into a syrup.

If using dates, blend the dates to a paste and heat Ghee and add the dates and let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes. 

Add the other ingredients to the syrup or the dates and mix well.

Remove the mixture to a tray and tie into balls or when it is hot.

Store in airtight containers.

This laddoo is very healthy and is usual given during postpartum to the new mother.

This laddo is prepared during winters in North India to combat the cold.
