Avocado Chutney Recipe – Avocado Spread Recipe

Avocado Chutney

Avocados are available in the South Indian market from April onwards.  There is an abundance of desi Avocados in the market.  Apart from making Guacamole, you can make many types of dishes.  This includes, chutneys, raithas, salads, and can be a part of a Vegetarian bowl.  This fruit is known as “Benne hannu” in Kannada.  Benne translates to Butter as Avocado is also known as Butter Fruit.

Here is the recipe for Avocado Chutney.  This can be served along with Pakoras and Chips.  This can also be used as a spread while making sandwiches.

Ingredients:
1 ripe Avocado, scoop out the flesh
1 Cup Coriander leaves, washed and chopped roughly
2 Green Chilies, minced
1/4 Cup Raw Mango, chopped or Juice of one Lemon 
2 to 3 Dates
4 to 5 Garlic pods
Salt to taste
 
Method:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
Grind to a smooth paste. Remove to a serving bowl.
Serve with Khakra, Bread toast, or can be part of a Vegetarian Bowl.
