Saheliyon Ki Bari Udaipur

It took some time for us to pronounce the name (Saheliyon Ki Bari) of this ancient park built by Maharana Sangram Singh II in Udaipur in the 18th Century.

He built Saheliyon ki Bari, Udaipur for the 48 women attendants who accompanied his princess as part of the dowry.

The sprawling garden has Lotus pools, pergolas, lawns, fountains and marble elephants and lions.

There are fountains everywhere to cool the atmosphere.

The lake water is the source of water for the fountains. The Maharajah took the pains of facilitating his queen and her friends to have a relaxed and fun time at the park.
