Regional Museum of Natural History, Mysore

The Regional Museum of Natural History in Mysore was established in 1995. Information on nature and its conservation is exhibited using photographs, models, charts, stuffed artifacts, and so on.

The Regional Museum of Natural History is divided into galleries such as, Biological Diversity, Life through the Ages, Ecology, Conservation for Development and Man and the Environment.

In most of the museums “Please do not touch” boards are displayed. In Regional Museum of Natural History, people are encouraged to touch and feel the various models and artifacts.

Everything about environment ranging from hills, forests, sea, river, flora, fauna, plants, and flowers are explained using models and pictures. Evolution of man is also depicted in a very interesting fashion.

There is provision for the visually impaired visitors to learn about nature through touch and feel. A room with computers enables visitors to learn about nature through interactive web based presentations.
