Moti Dungri Fort

Moti Dungri means Hills of Pearls and Moti Dungri Fort, Jaipur forms the backdrop for the beautiful Birla Mandir.

The fortress was called Shankargarh (Shiva’s Home). Sawai Man Singh II renovated the fort to resemble a Scottish Castle.


Maharani Gayatri Devi spent most of her time in this fort. This is a private residence and public are not allowed inside the fort.

The fort includes a palace and two temples. One temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh, which is at the foothills and the other to Lord Lakshmi Narayan.

Many devotees throng the Ganesh temple to offer prayers.
