Maddur

Maddur is a town situated on the banks of River Shimsha in Mandya district, Karnataka.

Paddy and coconut growing is the main occupation of the people living here.

It is now known as Tender coconut capital of India as 300 truck loads are sent daily to other Indian states like Punjab, Maharashtra, Kolkata, Goa, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

The ancient temples at Maddur attract many devotees.

Situated almost in the middle of Bangalore and Mysore, it is a perfect place to halt and sip filter coffee munching on delicious Maddur Vada (fritters).
