Lingambudhi Lake, Mysore

Another interesting water body in Mysore is the Lingambudhi Lake. This when compared with the other two lakes Kukkarahalli and Karanji Kere is not maintained and left to the wild.

A pillared stone mantapa adds the old world charm. Birds like Grebe, Egrets, and Cormorants are often spotted in this lake.

Just hope that the lake gets some attention and is maintained well to encourage more people to visit on weekends.

Update on the lake:

Lingambudhi lake is now thriving with bird life and flora.

A convenient walking path is laid for the visitors.

Many aquatic birds both resident and migrants can be seen around the lake.

Colorful shore birds can be seen among the trees and the bushes.

Sunset is equally mesmerizing here.

Updated on 9th Dec 2025:

Adjacent to the lake is the new Lingambudhi botanical gardens.
