I live to tell this story…

I was parched and knew I would die a slow and painful death.  The stench was unbearable and the plastic was clogging my respiratory organs.  Slowly my body was getting filled by mud and knew that a multi storeyed tomb was planned to be built on me. I was helpless, crying, and screaming for help, but people walked by ignoring and a few who happened to look at me sighed and pitied me.  I became silent and waited for the day of the inauguration of the tomb.

Through this entire trauma that I was going through, I was unaware that my savior had heard my plea and had initiated a plan to save me.  My savior is none other than Mrs. Usha Rajagopalan and I cannot thank her enough for saving me.

My name is Puttenahalli Lake and I am sandwiched between two apartment buildings.  Mrs Usha Rajagopalan formed Puttenahalli Neighbourhood Lake Improvement Trust (PNLIT) and worked relentlessly with her comrades in this crusade to save me.

Now, I am holding up water instead of the dump, there are benches for my visitors to rest, a cobbled walking path has added to my beauty, and the innumerable winged visitors that I am hosting never makes me feel lonely.

I know PNLIT has a lot of plans for me and I welcome people to come and explore this small eco-system.

I request all those who read my story to support PNLIT in its future endeavors and I promise that your support will be well rewarded.

Please do not litter and suffocate me again.
