Bagore Ki Haveli, Udaipur

When we visited Bagore Ki Haveli / Bungalow, it was late in the evening and the live music and the subdued lights in the Haveli on the banks of Lake Pichola, Udaipur took us back to few centuries. Bagore Ki Haveli is an ancient building situated at Gangori Ghat. The Prime Minister of Mewar Amir Chand Badwa built this Haveli in the 18th century.

There are over 100 rooms in Bagore Ki Haveli. Now, the rooms display costumes and modern art. The walls are decorated with intricate work in glass and mirror.

Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore occupied the Haveli after the death of Badwa and hence it is known as Bagore-ki-haveli.
Cultural programs are presented in the evening here and it is delightful to spend the evening here and get an insight into the Rajasthani dance and music.
