Doodhi Kofta Curry – Bottle Gourd Balls in Gravy Recipe – Lauki Kofta Curry

Doodhi Kofta Curry is a side dish where Bottle Gourd balls are deep fried and cooked in a gravy.

Ingredients:
500 gms Doodhi/Bottle Gourd, Grated
2tbsp Oil
Oil for deep-frying
2 tbsp Besan/Gram Flour
1 Big Onion, Chopped
1tsp Jeera Powder
1tsp Dhania Powder
1tsp Garam Masala
3 – 4 Garlic Pods, Chopped
2 Tomatoes, Chopped
2 Green Chilies, Chopped
1tsp Ginger pieces
2tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
1tsp Chili Powder
1tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste

Method:
Squeeze Doodhi and reserve the squeezed out water, add Besan, Salt, Green Chilies, Onions, Ginger, Coriander leaves and Garlic to Doodhi. Heat Oil for deep-frying in a kadai and divide the mixture into small balls/Kofta and deep fry till golden brown. Remove on a kitchen towel and keep it aside. Kofta is ready as shown in the picture below.


Heat 2 tbsp Oil; add chopped Onions, Turmeric Powder, Dhania, Jeera Powder, Garam Masala, Chili Powder, Tomatoes and fry for a minute. Now add the squeezed water of Doodhi close the kadai and cook for 2 minutes. Remove to a serving dish and add the Koftas, garnish with Coriander and serve Doodhi Kofta Curry with Roti.
