Appi Payasa – Poori Kheer Recipe – Poori Payasa

Appi Payasa

Appi Payasa is a tasty pudding prepared using Milk and Sugar is mixed with crispy bread just before serving.

Time Required: 30 Minutes

Ingredients:
For the Puri:
2 Cups Chiroti Rawa / Fine Semolina
1tbsp Ghee / Clarified Butter
Oil for deep frying
A pinch of Salt

For the Payasa:
8 Cups Milk
2 Cups Sugar
10 – 12 strands of Saffron soaked in Milk
2tsp Cardamom Powder
Nuts like Pistachios, Almonds fried in Ghee

Method:
For the Puris:
Mix Rawa, Ghee, Salt and little water to form a dough. Keep it aside for 2 hours.

Divide the dough into small balls. Roll the balls as thin as possible and make few cuts on them.

Deep fry them till crisp and golden brown.

For the Condensed Milk:
Boil Milk and Sugar until it is reduced to half. Add Nuts, Saffron Milk and Cardamom Powder and mix well. Remove and keep aside.

For the Payasa:

Just before serving crush the Puris into the Milk, mix well.

Remove to a serving dish and serve Appi Payasa immediately.
