Pink Tabebuia Impetiginosa – Pink Turmpet Tree

Namma garden city Bengaluru is fast becoming a city of cement and glass buildings, but come January, the Pink Tabebuia Impetiginosa trees burst into deep pink blooms adding the much needed color to the city.

Commonly known as pink trumpet tree, Pau d’Arco and Pink Lapacho, native of Mexico to Argentina. The trees are similar to Tabebuia Rosea and Tabebuia Aurea.

Pink Tabebuia Impetiginosa is a deciduous tree grows up to a height of 10 to 90 feet and planted for their ornamental property.

It is the national tree of Paraguay. The inner bark of Tabebuia Impetiginos has antibacterial and decongestant properties and is hence used in herbal medicines and to brew tea, known as lapacho.
