Golden Coreopsis

Other common names of Golden Coreopsis are Plains Coreopsis, Golden Tickseed, and Garden Tickseed. The botanical name is Coreopsis tinctorial and belong to Asteraceae (Sunflower) family. It is a native of North America, Canada, and Northern Mexico.

Golden Coreopsis is an annual plant. The stem of the plant is Green and not very hard. The plant needs a support to grow tall. It grows to a height of 3 feet.

The leaves are very pretty. They are green, pinnately-divided, and lacy. The flowers bloom at the top of the plant. The flowers are 1 to 1.5 inches and are bright yellow with brown or maroon centers.

Golden Coreopsis is grown as a garden flower and cultivated in fields. The Native American Zuni people use the flowers to dye the yarn.

Propagation:
Propagation is from seeds. The plant flourishes in either full sun or partial shade. Plant them in sandy and well-drained soils. Water regularly.
