Photo Frame Arrangement

If you are a photographer, the best place to display your work would be on the walls of your home. Apart from making a plain wall interesting, it is also a good subject to start a conversation.

There can be two types of grouping photo frames, and they are:

  1. Symmetrical grouping – when following this type of grouping use pictures with the same theme or size or frame color.
  2. Asymmetrical grouping – this type of grouping is more flexible in terms of sizes and shapes but should have one common factor like frame color.

It is good have a theme while arranging photographs. Type of room, wall size and color are some of the other factors to be considered.
Stairways are the most popular place among home makers and interior designers to hang photographs.

Material Required:
8 Framed photographs
Nails
Hammers
Pencils
Measuring Tape
Newspaper

Method:
Select pictures to be framed. Have a theme, for example, family photos, scenery, historical places, and so on. Select the shape, size and color of the frame. Arrange the frames on the floor in different patterns (grouping). Zero in on one pattern. Most popular is the diamond or rectangular shapes.


Select the wall and repair the cracks and peels and give a coat of paint.


Keep the frames on the newspaper and cut newspaper to the frames size. Measure the wall and paste the newspaper cuttings on the wall using the masking tape. Keep 2” distance from each frame.


Mark for the nail to be driven in. Drill the nails into the wall. Remove the newspaper cuttings. Hang the pictures and fix a picture / spot light over the arrangement.

Tips:

  1. Frames of same finish and color will look best.
  2. Use mounted frame with 4” white mat to give a neat look.
  3. Do no hang your photo frames very high
  4. Accessories like quilt, mirror or clock can be added to the frame arrangement.
