- During festivals and pooja, buy flowers like Lotus with long stems and put them in thin bottles filled with water and arrange behind the idol. The flowers will remain fresh for a longer time.
- Flowers like Jaji (Pink Jasmine) are very delicate and starts to bloom in the evening. To preserve strings of Jasmine, wrap the flower in 3 to 4 layers of newspaper and put it in a plastic cover and keep it in the refrigerator. You will find the flowers fresh in the morning for the pooja.
- Do not store silver items in cardboard boxes. Store them in unused cotton pillow covers. You can make two covers from one pillow cover to store smaller items. Add a string at the mouth of the cover to tie it up.
