Coelogyne nervosa is an Orchid found in Western Ghats. This epiphyte belongs to the genus Coelogyne of family Orchidaceae.
There are 200 species of Coelogyne and 35 species are found in Myanamar and the Western Ghats (Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu) of South India at an elevation of 1,000 to 2,300 meters above sea level.
The plant has Pseudo bulbs from which grow the leaves and the fragrant flowers bloom on a flower stalk that arises from the center of the Pseudo bulb.
I found these orchids in bloom in Seethalayyanagiri – Chikmagalur.
