Peas Masala

Peas cooked with spices and coconut.

Time Required: 20 Minutes
Serves: 4

Peas Masala

Ingredients:
3 Cups Shelled Green Peas
1 Cup Boiled Potato pieces
1 Cup Tomato Puree
1tbsp Kasoori Methi/Dry Fenugreek Leaves
2tbsp Fresh Cream (Optional)
1tsp Sugar
2tbsp Oil
Salt to taste

For the Masala paste:
1 Onion
1″ piece Ginger
2 Green Chilies
4 – 5 Red Chilies
½ Cup Coconut, Grated
2tbsp Chole/Channa Masala powder
1tsp Red Chili Powder
1tsp Chaat Masala Powder

Method:
Grind the ingredients for the Masala to a paste.  Steam Green Peas for 3 minutes and keep aside.  Heat Oil and add the Masala paste and stir-fry for two minutes.  Add Tomato Puree and stir-fry until the moisture evaporates.  Add Peas, Potatoes, Salt and 1 cup of water and mix well.  Cook for 2 minutes.  Add Cream and sugar and mix.  Remove to a serving dish and serve hot with Indian Bread or Pulao.
