Hasi Bisi Mavinakayi Uppinakayi
Hasi in Kannada means raw and Bisi means hot/warm. This pickle is prepared using raw and roasted spices.
Time Required: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
2 Cups Diced Raw Mango
Salt to taste
For Hasi/Raw Masala:
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Methi/Fenugreek Seeds
1 Mustard size Hing/Asafoetida
5 Dry Red Chilies
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
For Bisi/Warm Masala:
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Methi/Fenugreek Seeds
1 Mustard size Hing/Asafoetida
5 Red Chilies
1tsp Oil
For Seasoning:
2 tbsp Oil
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
Method:
Grind the ingredients for Hasi/Raw masala to a powder. Heat 1tsp Oil and fry the Bisi/Warm Masala ingredients and grind to a powder.
Heat 2tbsp Oil and add Mustard seeds and when they splutter add Turmeric powder and the Mango pieces. Sauté for a minute and add Hasi and Bisi masala powder and Salt and mix well. Serve with Curd Rice, Phulka, Roti etc.
