This dish is very easy to prepare and serve.
Cuisine: North Karnataka
Time required: 5 Minutes
Ingredients:
3 tbsp Menthedittu / Menthkoot
1tbsp Sweet Chutney or 1tsp Tamarind pulp + 1 tsp Jaggery + 1tsp Water
1tsp Oil
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
¼ tsp Hing / Asafoetida
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
Method:
In a bowl mix Menthedittu, Sweet Chutney, and Salt. Heat Oil and add Mustard Seeds, and when they splutter add Hing and Turmeric Powder. Pour this seasoning over the Methedittu mix and mix well. Serve with plain Rice.

A side dish prepared using Cluster Beans. This is a very common dish prepared in Mysore and Bangalore region. Tastes very good with Rice and Rasam.

Serves: 4
Ingredients:
40 Gorikayi / Cluster Beans
4 – 6 Green / fresh Red Chilies
1/2 Cup Fresh Grated Coconut
Few Curry Leaves
1tbsp Oil
2tsp Bengal Gram
1tsp Urad Dal (Black Gram split)
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2tsp Turmeric Powder
1 small piece of Jaggery
1tbsp Coriander Leaves, Chopped finely

Gojju can be prepared using many vegetables like Capsicum, Mango, Bhindi / Okra, Lemon, and this recipe is with small Gooseberries. Everyone would have eaten these small gooseberries dipped in chili-salt powder when in school. I did, almost everyday!

1 Cup boiled Avarekalu
1 Green Chili, Chopped finely
Few sprigs of Coriander, Chopped finely
Few Curry leaves, Chopped finely
1 tbsp Chutney Powder
Oil for roasting

1 big bunch Menthya soppu / Methi / Fenugreek Leaves
1 big bunch Dantina soppu / Amaranthus
1 Onion (on a festival day, you can omit this ingredient)
4 Green Chilies
Few Curry Leaves
1tbsp Grated Jaggery
1tbsp Oil
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
½ tsp Kadalaebele
1tsp Kadalebele / Bengal Gram
1tsp Uddinabele / Split Black Gram
A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
4tbsp Fresh Grated Coconut
