This flower arrangement is styled in Sogetsu style of Ikebana, where driftwood, zerbaras, asparagus, money plant, tuberoses vie for attention. Subtle colors bring out the character of the driftwood to compose an arrangement that makes the watcher drift into calmness.
Materials Required: 1 Shallow Container
1 Flower Pin
1 Driftwood
3 or 5 Zerberas
2 Tuberoses
1 thick branch Asparagus or 2 thin branches of Asparagus
3 Money Plant leaves
A coral to camouflage the flower pin
Branches with fruits are usually preferred in Ikebana style of flower arrangements. In this arrangement I have used Gauva branch with young Guava fruits.
Plant Summary:
Phlox are one of the most preferred flowers to plant in pots and beds. The botanical name is Phlox paniculata and belongs to the family Polemoniaceae. They are also known as Garden Phlox, Tall phlox, and Summer phlox.
These annuals bloom in vivid colors like blue, violet, red, pink, purple, orange, white, and also in bicolor. There are 67 species of Phlox and some of them are fragrant.
The trees change to a beautiful gold and rust color in Autumn and as they fall revel the intricate shapes of the branches they hung on for that year. This Ohara style flower arrangement is done using dried twigs, nuts and leaves.
Material Required:
1 Wooden Tray
1 Coconut
1 Onion or 1 Peach
2 White Aster flowers
1 crystal small cup
Few try twigs
2 or 3 Pine Cones
1 Drift wood
Any other dry stuff that you can lay your hands on
I picked up this driftwood during one of our treks and imagined doing flower arrangement using it. The wood is long and beautifully hollowed. Just as I imagined, the arrangement turned out to be a dream come true.
Materials required:
1 Long, hollowed Driftwood
Small pieces of Oasis / Flower arrangement sponge
Flowers like Orchids, Gerbera, Tube Roses, and so on
Asparagus leaves
A stand to rest the Driftwood
